Join us from the comfort of your own home as we celebrate the resilience of the Cluster! It’s been an incredibly challenging year, but our community’s strength and spirit remain strong, and our kids continue to grow.
Our free virtual celebration will include a night of music, special guests, trivia and more. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase beverage and dinner packages to enjoy during the event.
In addition to a carrying on the annual tradition of hosting this community event, our goal is to raise needed funds to support our schools, our families, and our community. Funds raised this year will be used for the following purposes:
Support our Cluster Schools
-
At Peabody, replacing damaged materials and providing supplies so all teachers and students have what they need when they return to the building in late August.
-
At Watkins, focusing on programs that support all of our students as we recover from the pandemic and target virtual learning loss.
-
At Stuart-Hobson, supporting summer programming for 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
-
Supporting and recognizing our wonderful teachers and staff with Teacher Appreciation events at Peabody, Watkins and Stuart-Hobson
Support our Cluster Families
-
Helping families in our community pay bills, buy groceries/medicine, take care of daily essentials, and support our families in need through the Maeve McKean Community Cares Fund.
Support our Cluster Community
-
Our community isn’t defined by geography or Ward. It’s defined by people —including Cluster family-owned, Black-owned and locally-owned businesses—who help our students thrive. Past auctions have relied on local businesses for donated items and support for our school. Given their struggles through the pandemic, we want to give back and support our Cluster community by encouraging those who are able to do so to donate items, services, and gift cards that they have purchased from local businesses.
-
Continuing the PTA tradition of making a donation to another DCPS school community, we will be contributing to Stanton Elementary School in Ward 8 to purchase supplies for their Summer School Academy. This will support Stanton Elementary students receiving valuable math, writing and reading instruction, social and emotional learning, and enrichment activities.
